The BlackBerry Bold Touch Gets a UK Release

by - source: Phones Review

Just a few more months before RIM unleashes the BlackBerry Bold Touch on the UK public.

It's been almost two months since we last heard anything about the BlackBerry Bold Touch. At the beginning of May, we learned that Vodafone, O2 and Orange would all be getting the device. Revealed at BlackBerry World about seven weeks ago, the device is basically a BlackBerry Bold with a touchscreen thrown in to appease those who like the idea of a touchscreen phone, but can't bear to give up the physical QWERTY keyboard RIM has become known for.

Today we bring you another tidbit about the Bold Touch, also known as the Bold 9900 -- a vague release date. According to Phones Review, Three is expecting to have the phone come September. However, if you can't wait that long, you might pop over to Carphone Warehouse, which currently lists the device as 'Expected August.' Pricewise you're looking at £399.99 SIM free, but we're sure those of you that don't mind signing a contract will be offered some sizable subsidies.

The Bold Touch is RIM's thinnest handset to date and boasts a high resolution, 2.8-inch capacitive touch screen; a 1.2GHz Snapdragon CPU; 768MB of RAM; up to 32GB of storage via MicroSD (8GB as standard); a 5-megapixel camera with flash and HD video capture; microUSB; NFC; Bluetooth; 802.11a/b/g/n; and compass, accelerometer and proximity sensors.

We'll let you know if we hear anything more specific regarding release dates and subsidized pricing.
