F-Share – Setup and first steps
Setup is as simple as you could wish for. Just unpack the device and plug it in – you’re all set to go. In order to store the downloaded content, the F-Share requires some form of externals storage, such as a USB stick or an external hard drive. Whichever you choose, the medium will have to be attached to the USB port on the back of the unit. After switching the F-Share on, it only takes about 10 seconds for the status LEDs to light up in the right colour, indicating that the BitTorrent client is ready for use.
The unit is configured over your home network using a web browser. To access the download box’s configuration menu, simply enter http://eshare-xxxx (where xxxx stands for the last four digit of the device’s MAC address).
The configuration menu contains the network property settings such as the automatic network configuration through DHCP. There are also options allowing you t limit the upload and download rates that regulate the P2P bandwidth. By default, the box is set to use the full bandwidth available.
Every user that wants to log on to the client needs his or her own access data.
The e-Share Live service is offered free of charge. Users’ access information can be entered here.
