Social networking site Bebo has announced that it will team up with broadcasters to provide users with TV content, which they can add to their profile and share with their friends.
Users can now include clips from their favourite shows on their homepage, which broadcasters hope will help increase the popularity of shows.
All in all, 22 broadcasters have signed up for the venture, including the BBC, Channel 4, MTV and SumoTV.
Each one has created their own homepage on Bebo, free of charge, where they can make their footage available to the 40 million beboers worldwide while still retaining the copyright.
Bebo and the broadcasters alike hope that users will make use of this service as opposed to resorting to outside video-sharing websies such as YouTube.
