Angsty teen fined for threatening teacher online
A former pupil of Meldrum Academy Secondary School has been fined £700 for setting up a bebo page targeting one of his former teachers. The pupil had been expelled by the schools Deputy Principal for shaking a vending machine.
The "We Hate Horberry" page was set up by Neil Cameron and included a photograph of the teacher taken by the former student. Cameron made several comments threatening directed at the Deputy Principal.
“I say anybody jumps him. What’ve you got to lose ?”
"Anyone who wants to kick him in can also drop me a little comment and we will arrange a tour date."
The teacher first became aware of the site from an anonymous tip in which he received a printed screen shot of the webpage.
Mr Horberry notified the police as he felt the site was offensive and the creator of the site posed a certain threat to him and his family as there were also offensive sexual comments on the site about his wife.
Cameron and a friend, who had also been expelled, both admitted to disturbing the peace when they entered school grounds and refused to leave until Horberry called the police.
