Bebo wins Computer Which?'s number one social networking site
All year we’ve been hearing all about how wonderful Facebook is. How it’s worth $15bn and how its always striving to be numero uno. Well, sometimes all the publicity in the world can’t help.
Computer magazine, Computing Which ?, named Facebook’s rival, Bebo, as best performing social network. The magazine assessed the social networking sites according to, performance, functions and ease of use. Bebo beat Facebook, MySpace and Yahoo ! Groups to the top spot.
Computer Which ? Said that while Facebook had an easy-to-use interface its expert found it confusing when adjusting the privacy settings on their account and found it difficult to locate where to permanently delete your account. Tut tut Facebook, it’s always polite to offer the door of deletion.
Bebo is known for being pro-online safety with various different methods of protecting younger users. Users can choose to leave their profile on private meaning no one can see your profile (this includes pictures, videos, music) without your approval. Members can block certain people from seeing their page and users under the age of 18 are not allowed to add anyone who is more than a certain number of years older than them.
All of these factors meant that Bebo scored a cool 79 percent in a close race where Facebook brought up the rear with 74 percent.
Better luck next year Facebook !
