BLU Makers Expect Huge Growth For LED Backlighting In Notebooks In H2 08
Backlight unit (BLU) suppliers are gearing up their shipments of LED BLUs for notebook PCs, with makers’ shipments for the segment expected to rise sharply in the second half of the year, according to company and market sources. Demand for LED backlighting in notebook applications has been rising fast, with LCD panel makers generally predicting a 20% penetration rate for LEDs in the notebook PC market by the end of this year.
