Actor brings production company to industrial tribunal after robot suit injuries
One Isaac Blake has taken Production Company, Ragdoll, to an industrial tribunal after claiming he was badly treated while employed by the company.
Mr Blake played one of the Tombliboos on the show In the Night Garden. He claims the full body robot suit he wore during production was uncomfortable and he could only see with the aid cameras. For periods when the cameras were faulty, Mr Blake could not see at all. Blake says the suit caused him harm, including a pelvic injury and was then unfairly dismissed after being signed off work by his doctor.
The 28 year old also claims that he was intimidated by Ragdoll and as a result of this felt he couldn’t leave. He said that he was also referred to as a “bitch” and a “faggot” by a co-worker and that nothing was done when he made a complaint regarding this issue.
A legal representative for the company told the tribunal no other performers had ever witnessed intimidation and none had been forced to keep performing if they felt unsafe. Blake is representing himself at the tribunal.
