Microsoft turns to Atari for Xbox Live Arcade
Redmond (WA) - Microsoft today launched Asteroids and Asteroids Deluxe on the Xbox Live Arcade, along with the promise of several more classic Atari titles.
Three additional games, Battlezone, Tempest, and Warlords, have already been announced. While they will remain true to their 1980s graphics, Atari has tweaked them to add online multiplayer support.
Battlezone and Warlords will both be playable via Xbox Live, complete with Xbox Live camera support for live video chatting with opponents. The games will also come with support for leaderboards and 1080p high definition resolution.
Tempest, as well as the two Asteroids games already released, do not have support for online multiplayer. Tempest, Battlezone, and Warlords will be available some time after the holiday season.
