Asus' Transformer Pad will hit the UK early in May.
Asus has revealed the UK launch details for its new Transformer Pad tablet. According to the Asus UK Facebook page, the blue Transformer Pad 300T will launch in early May at Currys and PC World. Those looking for the Iceberg White and Torch Red models will have to wait until late June and late July respectively.
As with Asus' previous iteration of the Transformer, this is a tablet with keyboard dock and is available for purchase as a combo. In fact, Asus has said you'll only be able to buy the two together at launch, so if you want just the slate, you might want to hold off. The tablet itself is based on Nvidia's quad-core Tegra 3 CPU and Android 4.0, also known as Ice Cream Sandwich. Additional specs include a 1.2-megapixel camera, an 8-megapixel lens on the back (with auto-focus and an F/2.2 aperture) as well as WiFi and USB and SD support. Asus says the £399 price is for the 32GB model, which is the only one that will be available in the UK at launch.
The Transformer Pad 300T is the follow on to last year's TF101 and is £100 cheaper than its predecessor at £399.
