ASUS is showing a prototype of its water-cooled Pinotnoir board built around the Nvidia 790i chipset.
The chipset’s northbridge and southbridge benefit from watercooling for which the board features two external connectors. Since the CPU and graphics card are also water cooled, this enables buyers to build an entire PC without a single fan. Since it uses an Nvidia 790 chipset, the prototype board supports 3-way-SLI. ASUS did its homework when designing the board, spacing the PCIe slots in such a way that you can install up to three GeForce 8800 Ultra cards. It also features six S-ATA 300 ports.
You can take a look at the board in action at the ASUS stand.
