It's been a week since Apple announced the newest model of its hugely popular iPad tablet and, with the device set to go on sale on Friday, people are already gearing up for the official launch. According to Pocket-Lint, a queue is already forming at Apple's Regent Street retail location.
As in previous years, there's a certain amount of geek cred, or at least publicity, for those that are first in line for the launch of a new Apple product. It also ensures you'll get a unit if you missed out on the first batch of pre-orders. Yes, be it an iPhone or an iPad, it seems Apple fans have no problem camping out for days to get their hands on the latest product from Cupertino. On London's Regent Street, the queue started days ago.
Named only as Ali and Zohaib, Pocket-Lint reports that the two men arrived at the store on Sunday and have been there ever since. They say friends, who were among the first in line for the iPhone 4S launch, are set to join them and they were yesterday expecting a delivery of sleeping bags to keep them warm.
The iPad will launch on Friday, 16 March, and will start at £399 for the WiFi-only model. The WiFi+4G model (which sadly won't give you 4G here in the UK) starts at £499. Are you buying one? Let us know in the comments below!
