Apple TV doesn't live up to it's 1000 movie promise

Cupertino (CA) - Apple was supposed to have a thousand movies on iTunes available on a digital rental basis for the Apple TV by now, but so far there are not even 500.

Steve Jobs reportedly told shareholders at a meeting this week that he was "not happy" with the slower-than-expected track to bring the added content to Apple’s set-top box.

At his annual Macworld keynote, Steve Jobs said that 1000 movies would be available for rent on the Apple TV by the end of February. Earlier this month, the company removed the ability to see a complete list of available titles.

According to Jobs, talks with movie studios have not been effective as Apple had hoped, and it has been a struggle to get their approval.
