DISASSEMBLED: Apple's Polycarbonate MacBook
Shield your eyes Apple fans, you do not want to see this.
Oh dear, it hasn't even been on the shelves a full day and already someone has gone and torn apart the new polycarbonate, unibody MacBook. Is nothing sacred? Nope.
The folks at iFixit have disassembled the latest iteration of Apple's MacBook and shared all the little bits and pieces they learned along the way. For example, despite being all locked up with no way out, the new battery is actually lighter than the old one. And did you know that new battery is just five more watt-hours than the older model, yet it adds two hours of run time? Interesting, no?
So, feast your eyes on the pictures below and head on over to iFixit for the full gallery and a step by step on how you can rip your own new toy apart. Of course, it's all in the name of curiosity, an avid interest in 'what makes it go?' and whatever else you need to tell yourself before going to town on your new notebook. It's only a thousand bucks, after all.
