Google Offering 10p Android Apps to Celebrate Milestone
Don't you just love it when companies celebrate milestones with discounts?
You might have heard that Google recently hit a pretty major milestone with its Android OS. The company announced that this past weekend, the Android Market exceeded 10 billion app downloads worldwide. This 10 billion figure is up from six billion in July and one billion in July of 2010. Now, you don't need us to tell you that 10 billion is an impressive number to begin with, but Google says that app downloads are now growing at a rate of a billion per month. No wonder the company is celebrating!
Of course, it wouldn't be a celebration if Google wasn't inviting us to the party as well, which is why, for the the next ten days, the company will be discounting loads of applications and lowering the price to just 10p. Check out the Android Market on your phone and see what applications are available to you today. Yesterday's apps included Minecraft, SwiftKey and Paper Camera.
