Leading manufacturer of high-performance notebook, desktop and professional systems, Alienware, today announced the world’s most powerful 15.4 inch notebook, the Area-51 m15x.
With a range of Intel Core 2 Duo or Core 2 Extreme mobile processors including the new 45nm Intel Core 2 Extreme X9000 and the world’s fastest notebook GPU, Nvidia’s GeForce 8800M GTX, the Area-51 is a nice addition to Alienware’s family of award winning systems.
Senior Vice President of Alienware, Brian Joyce, is clearly proud as punch of the new addition to the clan,
“Alienware always sets the bar almost impossibly high, but the new Area-51 m15x not only lives up to the elite tradition of past Alienware notebooks, it establishes a new performance standard that demands the attention of everyone from hardcore gamers and 3D content creators to students and professionals on the go,”
Ok, so what are you going to get for you money, then? What does it do? It’s time for some product specs:
The Area-51 offers a range of Intel Core 2 Duo or Core 2 Extreme mobile processors, including Intel Core 2 Extreme X9000 and comes with the GeForce 8800M GTX. You’ve got up to 4GB of 667MHz DDR2 Memory. The Area-51 also includes Alienware’s BinaryGFX technology and Smart Bay technology for on-the-fly customisation capabilities.
So now you know what you’re getting, you’re asking how much is this fancy-pants notebook going to set me back? Taking into account the Intel Core 2 Extreme X900 and the GeForce 8800 (which Nvidia bigwig, Rene Haas, claims will give customers an “astounding visual experience with the new era of DirectX 10 games, high-definition movies, and Windows Vista applications”) the pricetag of £1,543 (inc VAT and delivery, we’re told) seems fairly decent.
