Acer Announces (cheap) Compact Desktop PC
Acer today launched a new compact desktop PC that is pitched as a stylish as well as a space and power saving option for your average business desktop computer. We sort of agree (especially since the case measures only 10.6" x 4.0" x 14.4"), but what makes this new Aspire X1200 much more interesting is its price.

There isn’t much to get excited about in terms of hardware, since just basic computing needs are covered. The entry-level system comes with and AMD dual-core processor (Athlon X2 4850e), a GeForce 8200 IGC, a 320 GB hard drive and a 16x DVD burner. However, there is 4 GB of memory, which is unusual given the PCs price of $450. $10 more will buy an upgrade to an Athlon X2 5000+ chip.
A complete system with a 22" LCD, a 500 GB hard drive and the 4850e CPU is offered for $700.
