Asus, Sam’s Club Canada Join for Bamboo

By - Source: Tom's Guide | B 1 comment

Crazy colors, goofy graphics, metal casing – what do they all have in common ? They have nothing on bamboo, that’s what. ASUS is to debut World’s first bamboo notebook through Sam’s Club in Canada.

Asus and Sam’s Club Canada will be offering those eco-friendly citizens a chance to purchase a limited number of Asus U6V Bamboo notebooks. This environmentally-friendly notebook design definitely stands out from the crowd.

Asus and Sam’s Club Canada will hold a demonstration of the U6V Bamboo notebook at the Etobicoke location on November 14th from 5pm to 8pm – and at the Richmond Hill location on November 15th from 12pm to 3pm. Only a limited number of Bamboo U6V notebooks will be available – unfortunately no pre-determined number has been announced as of current.

The Bamboo notebook has already cropped up on Amazon as well, listing for US$1999.00. The listing currently says that the product has not yet been released but you can pre-order it now for US$1999.00

Technical Specifications are as follows (as listed on Amazon.com)

Intel Core 2 Duo T9400 2.53GHz 6MB L2 Cache
1066MHz FSB
320GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive
Nvidia 9300M-GS 256MB Graphics
12.1-inch WXGA LED backlit display – wide screen
Bamboo all over the place.

I'd better keep it away from my pet Panda. If he chews the screen off my new notebook I'll be pissed!
