ABC is fined for giving cheek
Disney owned network ABC has been fined for showing a little too much a little too early.
Apparently an episode of NYPD Blue aired in February of 2003 saw a young boy walk in on a lady in her birthday suit. The scene showed several shots of her bum and provoked a bit of controversy from parents and prudes and the like.
Now we’re not saying the watershed should be completely ignored but it was NYPD Blue. I wouldn’t let kids who weren’t old enough to see a bit of booty watch that.
Anyway, author’s opinion aside, according to Reuters the show has been slapped with a $1.43m fine by the Federal Communications Commission. The FCC has imposed the maximum fine available for the offence, which is a $27,500 fine for each of the 52 stations that showed the offensive cheek.
Those cunning stations that go by Eastern and Pacific Time managed to dodge the FCC bullet because of time differences. Jammy so and sos. . .
