BenQ 937S+: Speed Above All

by

BenQ is a specialist in 8ms monitors. We enjoyed testing the 8ms FP71E+ , and it now serves as our reference monitor in terms of response time. Now the manufacturer is back with an 8 ms 19" monitor. The FP937S+ shares the same chassis as the FP937S 12ms we tested for our earlier comparison of 19" units . The monitor may not put on any airs appearance-wise, but using it was a pleasant surprise.

Design: Copy/Paste

The design of the FP937S+ is strictly identical to that of the FP937S. Consequently, it's open to the same criticism. The grainy plastic around the panel is cheesy looking. And what's more, it's a fairly fragile material that doesn't stand up well to scratches. The buttons are in the same class: a monitor in this price range could do better.

Ergonomics: The Bare Minimum

The FP937S+ has a base with a tilt adjustment... and that's about it. The adjustment range isn't great, but the height of the panel is well-chosen and the working position is comfortable.

Features

Here again find the bare minimum, with dual DVI/VGA connectivity and no more. But that's the most important thing after all.
