845 Mobo Delays, P4s hit the Shelves
The question of when and from whom we'll see motherboards based on the Intel 845 chipset is much more befuddling than it needs to be. Over at The Inquirer , Mike Magee says that Intel is asking mobo makers to hold off on launching the SDRAM-based boards until September 10th. Meanwhile, it appears that Intel itself is already shipping its Brookdale boards. On the other hand, Mike says that some mobo makers don't plan to honor the emabargo and will put out their shiny new 845 boards on their own schedule. Also at The Inq , we heard that Pentium 4 2GHz processors are already on the street. In addition, he picked up a bunch of pricing info for both Intel chips and motherboards.
