50" share in US PDP TV market continues to climb
American consumers desire larger TVs and that was evident in the plasma (PDP) TV category during the first quarter of 2006, according to research firm Quixel Research. According to Quixel, the 50" to 60" unit share of the PDP TV market in the US grew 20% from the previous quarter and represented 30% of the total PDP TV market there in the first quarter of 2006. Revenues for this segment also increased, with the 50- to 60" value share rising 14% to account for 40% of the total PDP TV market.
