3DO's Heroes of Might and Magic III to ship
The 3DO Co.'s Heroes of Might and Magic III game has entered manufacturing. The product will appear is stores in early March.
Over 3.5 million units of the ten-installment game have been sold already. The latest version features new screen resolution of 800-by-600, and higher 16-bit color depth. All graphics in the game are pre-rendered 3D images, and the size of the combat screens has been increased 100 percent.
The game incorporates a unique architecture which allows players without a Heroes III game disk to participate in multiplayer matches. Heroes III is also the first game to use the popular MP3 format for its music and audio tracks.
