3Com/Huawei unveil new network routers
Network equipment maker 3Com Corp. has introduced a new line of routers that it made with its new partner Huawei Technologies Co. of China, predicting that their lower-cost products will drive down the prices of communications gear sold to businesses. "Nick Tidd, a 3Com executive who deals closely with partner Huawei, said network equipment will become a commodity just like the personal computer. In the past decade, PC prices fell even as performance improved."
