by - source: TechRadar

The UK launch of the next iteration of Nintendo's handheld DS console has been detailed.

It's already available in Japan and Nintendo detailed the 3DS's U.S. launch a fortnight ago. So, now it's time to talk about the portable gaming console's arrival to the UK. Nintendo has said it will be partnering with HMV for the March 25 launch and there;ll be some perks for those choosing to buy their 3DS from the retailer's flagship store.

If you're planning on queuing up for the device, you should know that HMV’s  Oxford Street location is opening at one minute past midnight and the first 500 customers will get a free 3DS game for their troubles.

The Oxford location will also play host to the official UK launch of the console so fans in attendance that night will receive a commemorative launch-night pack containing goodies such as a space blanket to keep them warm whilst queuing, a limited edition launch t-shirt and an exclusive 3DS launch edition of the Official Nintendo Magazine.

There'll also be an 'exclusive VIP event' for 2000 people and tickets will be offered to UK 'Club Nintendo' members via email.

HMV is currently charging customers £196.99 for the 3DS.
