Fujitsu just unveiled the latest member of its Plasma Display Panel (PDP) family: a new 32" HD panel. Built by Fujitsu Hitachi Plasma Display Ltd., the new 32" HD PDP is 65.5 millimeters (approximately 2.58 inches) deep. It weighs 13 kilograms (about 28 pounds), and features a viewing angle of at least 160 degrees. Its screen aspect ratio is 16:9, and the number of pixels totals 852 x 1,024. The new PDP was built using FHP's Alternate Lighting of Surfaces (ALIS) drive-circuit technology, which Fujitsu says doubles the resolution of the screen while using the same number of electrodes as conventional PDP technology. It's big and it ain't cheap. These displays list at $3,000 a pop.
