DDR RAM is definitely not gone, not forgotten, and not going away any time soon, primarily thanks to AMD embracing it and Intel hedging its bets by supporting it for the P4. In fact, it's still evolving. For proof, witness the fact that Kentron Technologies tells us that its 1GB DDR memory module has been approved for Tyan's Thunder K7 motherboard, making it an approved DDR supplier for the platform. Kentron's 1GB DDR266 FEMMA registered ECC memory module is the first 1GB DDR memory module to be on Tyan's approved list of qualified memory modules. Kentron also recently received the first low profile 512MB FEMMA DDR266 memory module approval from Tyan. The 1GB FEMMA DDR memory module is part number KT12872DRN3R-XXV2 and the 512MB FEMMA DDR module is part number KT6472DRN3R-XXV2.
