Quotes for 17" panels see largest rise in two years
The average quotes for 17" LCD monitor panels rose $12 in the first half of September to $125, a 10.6% increase from the second half of August and the largest increase during the past two years, according to WitsView Technology.
Except for Chunghwa Picture Tubes (CPT), which has been increasing production of the segment, most other panel makers have been switching to widescreen panels, affecting the already tight supply of 17" panels, industry sources said.
