160 MB/Second RAID

Game players want speedy graphics performance, but nuts and bolts systems administrators crave the fast (and hopefully automatic) backups that will allow them to get home for dinner. To help you guys get to the supper table, DigiData just announced the Fibre Sabre 2300 Family of Fibre Channel RAID Systems, which the company says delivers data from disks at a rate of over 160 MB per second. The systems employ an internal architecture that uses six disk channels to read or write to multiple disks simultaneously. Using 10,000 and 15,000 RPM disks, DigiData says the Fibre Sabre 2300 delivers that sustained throughput even in entry level configurations with 5 disks (4 data disks and 1 parity disk).
