128MB Secure Digital Memory Cards from Toshiba
Toshiba is keeping all the bases covered when it comes to solid state storage. The company has devices in CompactFlash, SmartMedia, and Secure Digital (SD) form factors. Today, the company let us know about its new 128 MB SD Memory Card. The new card, called the SD-M1280, includes two of Toshiba's 512 MB NAND flash memory devices, manufactured using Toshiba's 0.16-micron process technology. Toshiba thinks the devices will be used in wireless and portable communications devices like PDAs, cellular phones, handheld PCs, digital still and video cameras, MP3 players, car navigation systems, and electronic books. Samples of Toshiba's SD-M1280 are available now, and priced at $149 each in OEM quantities. Toshiba also plans to introduce a 256MB SD Memory Card in Q4 2001.
